제 이름은 릭 다카하시이며 고등학교 미술교사이자 그래픽 아티스트입니다.
또한 플라이낚시 동호인이며 가끔은 글을 쓰기도 합니다.

나는 앤디김에 관해 이야기를 할 수 있어 아주 기쁩니다. 난 앤디김처럼 물고기를
낚는 사람을 본 적이 없습니다.
내가 앤디김과 알고 지낸지는 여러해 되었는데 앤디김은 여전히 나를 놀라게 만듭니다.
앤디김에 관해 짤막하게 언급하겠습니다.

.....앤디김이 샌 환 강 일대에 끼친 영향.....
앤디김은 미국 뉴멕시코주 북부지역에 있는 샌 환 강(San Juan River) 최고의 낚시가이드이며
그에게 가이드를 받은 많은 고객들이 이를 증명해주고 있다.
그는 여러 플라이패턴을 고안해냈고 그 플라이의 적절한 사용기법 역시 개발해내었으며
그 덕분에 수많은 플라이낚시인들이 낚시를 제대로 할 수 있었다.
앤디김은 샌 환 강에서 낚시가이드를 하면서 자신의 경험과 지식을 가이드를 받는 낚시인들에게
정확하게 알려주었고 그 덕분에 앤디김에게 낚시가이드를 받은 고객은 나중에 또 그에게서
가이드를 받곤 한다.
그에게서 낚시가이드를 받았던 많은 낚시인들이 그에게 감사편지를 보내오고
그의 용스페셜 플라이패턴을 주문해가곤 한다.
앤디김의 플라이패턴에 관한 최초의 공개는 플라이피셔맨 잡지를 통해서 이루어졌으며
그때 Yong Special과 Yong-blood의 타잉법이 기사화되었다.
앤디김의 플라이패턴은 샌 환 강 일대에서 낚시를 하는 사람들 사이에서 오랫동안 비밀에
쌓여있었다.
이 기사를 통해 많은 동호인들이 앤디김이 고안한 플라이패턴으로 낚시를 할 수 있게 되었다.
앤디김의 낚시기법은 밋지기법중 가장 뛰어난 기법의 하나로 평가받고 있으며 샌 환 강 일대의
뛰어난 플라이 타이어들에게도 아주 큰 영향을 주었다.
...앤디김 덕분에 나는 좀 더 나은 플라이낚시인이 되었다고 생각한다.

My name is Rick Takahashi and I am a high school art teacher, graphic artist,
fly tier, fly fisherman and sometimes a writer.

I have never met a fisherman who can catch fish like Andy does.
He still amazes me even after all these years that I have known Andy.
I thought I'd write you a short statement about Andy "Yong" Kim. I hope you

ANDY YONG KIM MAKE IMPACT ON THE SAN JUAN RIVER
Andy Kim may be one of the best guides on the San Juan River, located in the
northern part of New Mexico and many of his client attest to that fact.
The fly patterns that he designed and the techniques he developed to fish those
patterns has resulted in the success of hundreds of fly fisherman catching fish.
Andy Kim has been successful in parlaying his knowledge and skill into one
of the busiest guide services on the San Juan River.
Many of his customers are repeats, which required bringing on board an additional
guide to assist in the operation.
His past customers have sent letters thanking Andy for their fishing experience
and to order his Yong Special Flies.
Andy's flies were featured in an article in Fly Fisherman Magazine that revealed
for the first time, how to tie two of his flies: Yong Special and Yong-blood?
These patterns had long been a guarded secret on the San Juan and
many fly fishermen who fished the river tried to imitate Andy's patterns.
With the release of the article, many fly fishermen are now enjoying the benefits
of his creativity.
Andy's techniques for fishing are now accepted as one of the most successful
systems for fishing midge patterns. His influence has helped very talented fly tiers
around the region come up with successful patterns of their own.
He has certainly helped me to become a better fly tier and fisherman.
